JUI-F Chief Praises CJP Isa’s Positive Role in Supreme Court Ruling
Maulana Fazlur Rehman Announces Nationwide ‘Day of Gratitude’ After Supreme Court Ruling in Mubarak Sani Case
Islamabad: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has declared a nationwide ‘Day of Gratitude’ in response to the Supreme Court’s acceptance of a review petition in the Mubarak Sani case. This decision, which has been met with widespread approval, comes as a significant milestone for the JUI-F and its supporters.
In a media briefing held on Thursday in Islamabad, Fazlur Rehman expressed his profound appreciation to the Supreme Court and the parliament for their roles in this landmark ruling. He announced that Friday will be observed as a special day of gratitude, underscoring the historical significance of this date. “Tomorrow, we will observe Friday as a day of gratitude. On this very day in 1974, the National Assembly passed a resolution and amendment unanimously, declaring Ahmadis and Lahoris as a minority. Today, as we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of this resolution at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore, the Supreme Court’s ruling has only served to heighten the significance of this commemoration,” Fazlur Rehman stated.
The Golden Jubilee Celebration
The day of gratitude is also being marked as a ‘day of victory’ by Fazlur Rehman, who emphasized that the Supreme Court’s recent ruling has amplified the importance of the Golden Jubilee. This celebration reflects the enduring impact of the 1974 resolution, which was a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s legislative and social history. “The entire nation is coming together with renewed energy and a victorious spirit to honor this historic decision,” Rehman added.
Fazlur Rehman reinforced his stance on the finality of Prophethood, stating unequivocally that no external force can undermine this belief. “No power in the world can conspire against the belief in the finality of Prophethood (PBUH), nor will their conspiracies ever succeed. This sentiment represents the unanimous voice of our nation. While we respect their human rights, it is crucial for everyone to recognize and adhere to Pakistan’s Constitution,” he asserted.
Constitutional Loyalty and Human Rights
In his address, Fazlur Rehman also underscored the importance of adhering to the Constitution, warning that any rebellion against the country’s constitutional framework would lead to the forfeiture of civil and human rights. “If any individual anywhere in the world rebels against their country’s Constitution, they lose their civil and human rights,” he explained.
Fazlur Rehman’s comments reflect a broader sentiment of national unity and adherence to constitutional principles. His remarks also highlight the ongoing debate around religious and constitutional matters in Pakistan.
Praise for Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa
When questioned about Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s role in the Supreme Court ruling, Fazlur Rehman offered high praise. “We must commend and appreciate the positive role that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa has played today,” Rehman said, acknowledging the chief justice’s contribution to the case. This recognition underscores the importance of judicial leadership in shaping significant legal and constitutional decisions.
Political and Religious Solidarity
Fazlur Rehman concluded his remarks by expressing gratitude to both the Supreme Court and the parliament, emphasizing that this issue has seen unity across political and religious lines. “Both the government and the opposition have shown solidarity on this matter, and religious parties have consistently supported this cause. Today’s demonstration of unity is a testament to their commitment,” he stated.
His address reflects the strong political and religious solidarity on this issue and highlights the ongoing importance of the 1974 resolution in contemporary Pakistan. As the nation prepares to observe the Day of Gratitude, the focus remains on celebrating this historic decision and reinforcing the principles it represents.
