PM Shehbaz Vows to Eradicate Terrorism, Promises Full Support to Military

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made a resolute commitment to eliminate terrorism in Pakistan, pledging to provide the military with all the necessary resources to combat the growing threat. During a Federal Cabinet meeting, convened in response to a series of terrorist attacks, the premier emphasized that the time has come to end terrorism once and for all. “There is no room for terrorism. The time has come to end it. We will provide the military with whatever resources it needs,” declared PM Shehbaz, underscoring his government’s determination to tackle the menace head-on.

PM Shehbaz strongly condemned the recent surge of violence in Balochistan, stating that the terrorism plaguing the province is beyond reprehensible. He pointed to the ongoing attempts by terrorist groups to create discord between Pakistan and China, noting the strategic implications of such activities. The prime minister made it clear that his government will only engage in dialogue with groups that respect and accept Pakistan’s constitution. He firmly stated that talks will not be conducted with entities he referred to as “friend-like enemies,” indicating a hardline stance against those who disguise their hostility under the guise of friendship.

The Federal Cabinet meeting, chaired by PM Shehbaz, was primarily focused on addressing the escalating security concerns in the country. The recent terrorist attacks, particularly in Balochistan, were a central topic of discussion. The cabinet is expected to take critical decisions aimed at stabilizing the nation amidst growing security challenges.

Series of Attacks Shake Balochistan

Balochistan, already struggling with long-standing instability, witnessed a series of devastating attacks across multiple districts on Monday. These incidents have further highlighted the urgent need for a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism in the region.

The wave of violence began with the destruction of the Dozan railway bridge in the mountainous Bolan Valley. This bridge was a crucial piece of infrastructure, connecting Balochistan with the provinces of Sindh and Punjab via train service. The destruction of the bridge has not only severed a vital transportation link but has also further isolated the province, exacerbating the challenges faced by its residents.

One of the most horrific incidents occurred in Musakhail district, where 23 passengers were forcibly removed from a bus and brutally murdered one after another. This senseless act of violence has sent shockwaves through the nation, underscoring the brutality of the terrorists operating in the region.

Kalat district was also targeted, with an attack on security forces resulting in the deaths of 10 people, including five security officials and five civilians. This attack further emphasizes the high level of risk faced by both security personnel and civilians in the region.

In Noshki, militants carried out an attack near the Frontier Corps fort, injuring five civilians. The violence extended to the Sibi district, where six bodies were discovered, adding to the rising death toll from the ongoing violence.

Militants also targeted the Daringarh police station in Mastung, though, fortunately, no casualties were reported in this attack. Meanwhile, in the Pishin district, a hand grenade attack injured two people, with a government office being the primary target. In Lasbella, three security officials were murdered in a targeted attack, but the security forces managed to repulse a major assault.

In response to these attacks, the military launched a swift and decisive operation, eliminating 21 suspected militants. A major terrorist attack was also successfully thwarted in the Lasbela district, showcasing the military’s resolve to protect the nation and its citizens.

As the situation continues to unfold, the Federal Cabinet’s discussions and subsequent decisions are anticipated to play a crucial role in shaping Pakistan’s strategy against terrorism. The government’s firm stance, coupled with military action, reflects a comprehensive approach to eradicating terrorism and restoring peace and stability to the country.
